The Sheskharis oil terminal (Transneft) in Novorossiysk is one of Russia’s key Black Sea crude export terminals. It receives crude through Transneft’s trunk pipeline system and loads tankers at marine berths. Export grades handled include Urals, Siberian Light and Kazakhstan’s KEBCO; the Caspian Pipeline Consortium operates a separate marine terminal in Novorossiysk.

Temporary full halt of crude loadings
According to three Reuters sources, the terminal completely halted crude loadings and stopped accepting oil after the attempted attack as storage tanks reached capacity. One tanker left the port for open sea. The terminal handles about 700,000 barrels per day. Loadings resumed on August 16.
